General Questions
Is FreeDB really free?
Yes! FreeDB offers a free tier that allows you to create up to 2 temporary MySQL databases with 100MB of storage. No credit card is required to use the free tier.
How long do temporary databases last?
Temporary databases on the free plan are automatically deleted after 24 hours. They are intended for testing, demos, and short-lived development work.
Plans & Billing
What is the Persistent Plan?
The Persistent Plan is a $3/month subscription that prevents your databases from being deleted. It also increases your limits to 5 databases and 200MB of total storage.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time directly from your dashboard. Once cancelled, your databases will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Technical Details
How do I connect to my remote MySQL database?
Once you create a database, we provide you with a hostname, username, and password. You can use these credentials in any MySQL client, such as MySQL Workbench, DBeaver, or directly in your application code.
Is remote access enabled?
Yes, all databases on FreeDB allow remote connections from any IP address. You don't need to configure any firewall rules on our end.
What MySQL version are you using?
We currently use MySQL 8.0, providing you with the latest features and performance improvements.
